Watershed outreach in Tjotjombeni

As many may know I have been active in helping animals in our poorer areas for many years. In June I asked Watershed Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Fund to join one of my visits. Mainly run by two very hard working, sympathetic volunteers, Stephne Jackson, the founder, and Christelle Radyn. They are a no fuss, get it done team with lots of expertise and energy.

One visit resulted in 24 dogs being sterilised, dewormed, vaccinated and given Preventic collars donated by Virbac. As you can see from the photograph of the dog with burns and the one with dreadful mange, help is desperately needed. The cat had been thrown onto the hot coals of a fire. It was treated, and rehomed. Four other dogs that owners no longer wished to keep were also rehomed.

Watershed and I would like to have a mass sterilisation at the end of August and treat, say, 50 animals. Each animal costs R500 to be neutered and vaccinated. If you can help, please make a donation to W.A.R.F, NPO no. 085-455, Standard Bank, Branch Code 051001, Account no: 072285702, Reference: Franschhoek. Please give us your name and e-mail address and all donations will be acknowledged. A receipt for tax purposes can also be supplied. You would also be very welcome on the day to see how your money is spent!
